Remarks
The Trident 24 has a proven record of sea worthiness, with many examples having completed single handed channel crossings and at least one having crossed the Atlantic. She is a tough, reliable and easily managed yacht, with wide decks and all controls led back to the cockpit, and with her shallow draft, she is also a very versatile vessel.
This example was was purchased new in 1968 as a 'Sailaway' with a Vire petrol engine. She was fitted out by her first owner, an electrical engineer, over the next couple of years, and was converted to an electric engine in the late 1990s. Her current (and second) owner purchased her in 2006, and he has since updated and simplified the electrics which are now very reliable and produce plenty of torque for close quarters manoeuvring. Whilst her owner states that she would benefit from some cosmetic improvement (for example, by the renewal of the forward headlining - a job which was started by her former owner, but sadly never finished - and general interior repainting/varnishing), she is otherwise a very well equipped yacht which is lying afloat, in commission and ready to go! She is for sale due to a change of plans.
