Remarks
Proving themselves to be solid, strong, sea kindly and fast for their size, a total of about 100 Falmouth Gypsy's were built (most recently by Gweek Boatyard/Trecarne Boats) in three different versions - the all plywood Mk1, composite Mk2 (as offered here) and all GRP Mk3.
In the current ownership since c.1996, this early example Falmouth Gypsy II has previously been sailed both locally on the North Norfolk coast from Blakeney and also trailed to Brittany/Bretagne, France, by the current owner. Having since been laid up ashore on her trailer for some 8 years or so, and having recently very sadly sustained some damage/vandalism by local children (a stanchion pulled from the deck, the single lever control pulled from it's fixings, toilet seacocks broken out of hull and fire extinguishers let off), she now requires a programme of repairs and restoration, repainting, etc. With her GRP hull, diesel inboard engine (which started and ran perfectly in July 2022 the vendor informs us!) and custom-built road trailer, she would appear to be a very worthy restoration project for someone with modest DIY skills, enthusiasm and, ideally, space to store her at home.
Also known as the Falmouth Gipsy/Falmouth Gypsy 24 Mk2.
DELIVERY: Currently lying just south of Norwich, the vendor has indicated that he's willing to deliver the vessel within Norfolk, subject to negotiation.
