Remarks

The Waveney One Design (WOD) was designed in the early 1920s at the request of the Waveney Sailing Club, and the class are still actively sailed and raced at the Waveney & Oulton Broad Yacht Club (WOBYC). The first 26 WODs were constructed in wood by various builders over a number of years. In 1994 the first GRP example was built from a mould taken from a local boat builder's WOD, Penny Royal, with a further 7 GRP boats having been built since (numbers 30-34 having been built by Justoby Marine Services).

This example, Waveney #31 Valerian, was sailed in the Lake District on completion in 2001 and has been back sailing and racing on Oulton Broads since 2012 with the current owners. For sale due to the purchase of a wooden WOD!
