Remarks

Famous for having originally been designed for English author Arthur Ransome ('Peter Duck' being the third book in his Swallows and Amazons series), the Peter Duck Ketch is an attractive and unashamedly traditional motor sailer designed to take you almost anywhere! This example - PD3, originally called "Dabchick" - has a notable history having been built for, and owned for many years by, Lord Coleraine. She was in Aberystwyth Harbour when purchased by the current owner in November 2017, having cruised the UK and mainland Europe with her previous owner. She was then returned by road to her county of origin, having been built locally in Norfolk at Wroxham, for some sympathetic renovation works and further adventures! Understood to be in good structural order with a sound hull (free from softness and rot), and with a number of works and improvements carried out under the current ownership, the vendor has now regretfully decided to downsize for local sailing and this delightful East Coast classic is therefore looking for a new owner. Equally suited to returning to sea for long term/extended cruising, this motor sailer, with her draft of 3ft 7in and air draft of just over 7ft, could also be used under motor alone locally here on the Norfolk Broads. Offering lots of potential, this lovely old yacht is very sensibly priced for a quick sale.

This vessel is British Part 1 registered (expires January 2023).

PLEASE NOTE: The photos show an old galley stove which has since (August 2021) been replaced.
