Built by Hampton Boats in 1959 as "Gay Safari", this traditionally styled Broads aft cockpit motor cruiser was the precursor to the ever popular Hampton Safari 25! Originally built as one of a class of two boats (and deemed to the 'better' boat, as attested to not many years ago when the vendor chanced upon at Reedham a former apprentice who served under Alec Hampton and assisted with the building of both boats!), this is thought to now be the sole survivor of the class. Understood to have been the subject of Hampton's Boats' first foray into the use of 'new' epoxy technology (decks and cabin top), the two Hampton 22s were the last wooden boats built by the yard.

"White Lily" was purchased by the current owner about 10 years ago, and both her (very reliable) diesel engine and her structure have been fastidiously maintained throughout his ownership. She has been wintered ashore in a shed annually, and her hull sanded, seams re-puttied as necessary and repainted each year. A number of planks were replaced in the early years of the current ownership, and the engine also overhauled, and the boat has been professionally inspected every winter since. She is now sadly offered for sale due to ill health. The owner commenced pre-season maintenance earlier this year, sanding the hull back as normal. Lockdown then ensued and no further work has since taken place. She therefore requires the checking/re-puttying of her seams, her topsides repainting and her engine servicing prior to relaunching. "White Lily" is otherwise understood to be in great condition throughout. The owner informs us that she normally only takes 24 hours or so to take up ("drum tight!"), but her next relaunch will understandably require a little additional attention due to the slightly extended period that she has been ashore this year. The boatyard are however well experienced in such matters! With her large cockpit, and well appointed and thoughtfully designed interior (which is still almost exactly to the original design), this is a really lovely little motor cruiser and a piece of Broadland boating history. Much admired afloat, the photos of her ashore in a dusty boat shed don't really do her justice!

PRICE SUBSTANTIALLY REDUCED FOR QUICK SALE! This boat is seriously for sale and all sensible offers will be considered.
