Owner's Remarks

Peregrine - a classic historic Broads Cruiser - has been in our ownership for over ten years and has become part of the family. We have sailed her, holidayed in her and entertained our friends comfortably in her. Built for cruising and adapted for racing Peregrine is a splendid sailing boat for multiple activities on the Norfolk Broads. She is a past winner of the Three Rivers Race (second place). An excellent entry allows her to stay swift and stable in a good wind or to cruise along smoothly on a breath. As current owners we have carried out an extensive rolling restoration programme sympathetic to the Peregrine's historic status whilst adding some modern features (electric motor and solar panel). Major restoration work has been undertaken by Peter Simpson of Upton who has improved, maintained and renovated Peregrine since he was an apprentice. Recently, this work has included the fitting of new decks & covering, new planking, some new timbers & frames, part new hog, new stern and transom. Earlier, Peter successfully extended the sail area and keel depth to improve her sailing efficiency to what it is today. Now - with the inevitable sadness of parting - we are looking for a good home for her to go to, to carry on looking after her with care and sharing the enjoyment of her in the same way that we have done.
