This is an unusual opportunity to obtain a part share in a very well maintained, traditional Broads Half Decker.

The owner states:

"'Wildwood' (Registration number L722) is a timber half-decker (length 6.07m, beam 1.93m) currently moored on the northern Broads. My family has owned her since 1996 but we are now looking for someone to take on a half-share to manage costs and to ensure that she is sailed more often.

She is fully equipped with a silent electric outboard (Mindura 55, purchased 2007, running off portable battery) and a new Top Gun cover (purchased 2013). She over-winters at Ludham Bridge Boatyard (now trading as SOS24) who have employed the same boatbuilder to fit her out and keep her in good condition since 1985. We believe that she was built in the mid-50s. (The Broads Authority have 5 previous owners listed for her as well as two former names - 'Lucky Chance' and 'Lucky Lady IV'.)

We are looking for a £1,000 purchase price plus a commitment to meeting half of the major annual running expenses. The annual running costs comprise routine maintenance and also from time to time Wildwood needs additional renovation work. The major annual running costs for 2013 were just under £2,800 pounds (made up of berth £499, tolls £114, insurance £172, and fitting out/laying up costs of £2,000). In terms of more intermittent renovation she was re-caulked and had some re-planking in 1997 and again in 2010, she had 30 new ribs fitted in 1999, and she had a new cover in 2013.

We are usually away from Norfolk during school holidays, meaning that you would have sole use of Wildwood during August, Easter, and half terms. We would envisage coming to a mutually convenient agreement about sharing her use at other times during the season."
