Easily sailed by a crew of two, this great cruising RCC yacht has also enjoyed some racing success with her current owners of some 28 years! One of a class of ten, she started out life as Fairways 3, after which she became part of the Wanderbird fleet in the early 1950s along with Fairways 4-10 (Fairways 1 and 2 were bermudan rigged and became Playmates). She was later renamed Gingernut 2 when sold into private ownership. The Fairways yachts were hired by Arthur Ransome a number of times in the 1930s and it is believed that Teasel in The Coot Club is based on these yachts. Currently lying afloat and in commission. Further photos available soon.
