Remarks

Easily sailed by a crew of two, this great cruising RCC yacht has also enjoyed some racing success with her current owners of some 28 years! One of a class of ten, she started out life as Fairways 3, after which she became part of the Wanderbird fleet in the early 1950s along with Fairways 4-10 (Fairways 1 and 2 were bermudan rigged and became Playmates). She was later renamed Gingernut 2 when sold into private ownership. The Fairways yachts were hired by Arthur Ransome a number of times in the 1930s and it is believed that Teasel in The Coot Club is based on these yachts. Currently lying afloat and in commission.
