This river cruiser is believed to be the oldest and possibly the only surviving example of a River Thames cabin sailing yacht. She was built by Salters of Oxford, possibly as late as 1898, but certainly before the disastrous fire which destroyed all of Salters records in 1900 (after that date, the builders name plates were issued with the build year engraved). Lucy is thought to have been brought to the Broads by road after the war, and at one time was called Lapwing, but even this may not be her original name. She was discovered as a wreck at Wayford Bridge in 1982 (by a previous owner) and was subsequently restored at Greenway Marine in Loddon.
