"Thorntree" was built in 1939 as a ring-netter for pursuing Herring shoals around Scotland, the Irish Sea and north-east England. She continued to work in a various fishing fleets until the mid 1980s, at which time to was purchased by a professional boat builder in Essex who fitted her out to a high standard as a live aboard for himself and his family. He subsequently purchased a larger vessel, and "Thorntree" was purchased by her current owners some fourteen years ago. She has since been their permanent home, and has cruised the east coast extensively. She is now sadly for sale due to her owners moving back on to land, and she requires a programme of works to complete the sympathetic restoration that her current owners have begun. She offers a fantastic opportunity for someone with the required DIY and boat building skills to create a very unique and desirable live aboard home.

At the time of writing, her current mooring costs £210 per month.
